Body found on barrel in South Tangerang
The deceased was thought to have died more than a month ago.

body was found on a barrel on Monday near the Cisadane River in Cihuni village, Pagedangan, Tangerang Regency. The discovery was made by a resident who was roaming the riverbank to collect ant eggs to feed his birds.
South Tangerang Police crime unit chief Adj. Comr. Alexander Yurikho said according to the forensic team’s investigation at the Kramat Jati Police Hospital, East Jakarta, the deceased was thought to have died more than a month ago.
“The body is at least six weeks old,” he said on Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He went on and explained that the body was not found inside the barrel, as he was lying on its side.
“Maybe the deceased died while sleeping on the barrel,” Alex said.
Given that the police did not find any injuries on the body, they alleged that the deceased was a homeless man. The police are questioning residents to find his family. (vla)
