Muhammad Arifin Ilham was undergoing treatment for nasopharynx cancer.
slamic preacher Muhammad Arifin Ilham passed away in Penang, Malaysia, on Wednesday night after battling nasopharynx cancer since 2018.
The news was announced by the preacher’s son, Muhammad Alvin Faiz through his Instagram account @alvin_411.
Arifin previously underwent treatment in Penang as well as Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital in Jakarta. He will be buried around Az Zikra Gunung Sindur mosque area in Bogor, West Java.
His funeral was held Thursday morning at Pondok Pesantren (Islamic boarding school) Al-Quran and Sunnah Az-Zikra (PPASA).

Many public figures have expressed their condolences in response to his death, including President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, who used his Twitter account @jokowi.

Arifin was a prominent religious figure. He founded the PPASA Islamic Boarding school in 2012. He also led the congregation of Az-Zikra mosque during the 212 movement in 2016. (kes)
