The adjustment will effect headway to 10 minutes from the regular five minutes.
MRT Jakarta has adjusted its operations over the Idul Fitri holiday period to seven trains per day from June 1 to 9.
The number of trains is half the number it operates on weekdays, from 5 a.m. until midnight.
“This implementation is in accordance with a joint ministerial decree on public holidays and work leave,” MRT’s corporate secretary, M. Kamaluddin, told tempo.co on Monday.
He went on to say that the adjustment would effect headway to 10 minutes from the regular five minutes.
Moreover, the number of trips will be reduced to 219 from 285.
Meanwhile, operational hours remain the same.
Kamaluddin said the adjustment was similar to what the company implemented every weekend.
The number of passengers during holidays, he added, was usually less than the number of passengers on weekdays. Most of them are office workers.
Kamaluddin also said the company would not make any adjustments to the number of security personnel at MRT stations during the holiday. (das)
