looding has occurred in parts of Jakarta on as a result of heavy rain in the early hours of Friday morning, according to data from the Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD).
The BPBD recorded 54 inundated areas across the capital, of which 28 are located in North Jakarta.
Eleven areas in North Jakarta's Cilincing district saw floodwaters reaching 10 to 30 centimeters high, with Jl. Pedongkelan inundated up to 20 to 30 centimeters by 6 a.m. The Koja and Pademangan districts of North Jakarta were also flooded.
Central Jakarta recorded 14 flooded areas, while West and South Jakarta each recorded three.
The Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center has also updated information on floods in Jakarta through its official Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro.
As of 12:48 p.m., the center reported that floodwaters as high as 30 centimeters had inundated parts of the National Monument (Monas) complex in Central Jakarta.

Jl. Yos Sudarso in North Jakarta was also inundated up to 60 centimeters, with the police advising people driving sedan cars not to use the road. They also gave this advice to motorists on Jl. Bukit Duri Selatan in South Jakarta, where floodwaters reached as high as 50 centimeters.
Six areas were reported to be flooded in East Jakarta, where the highest floodwaters were recorded at 70 cm in Kramat Jati district as of 10:30 a.m.
Flooding of up to 15 centimeters high was recorded at 6 a.m. in Cengkareng district, West Jakarta. In Central Jakarta, the Gandhi underpass in Kemayoran district was inundated up to 15 centimeters by 8 a.m., as was Jl. Letjend Suprapto in Cempaka Putih district by 9:30 a.m.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast heavy rain for Jakarta from Jan. 24 to Jan. 29, and has issued a flood warning for the capital from Jan. 24 to 25.
The first day of 2020 saw widespread flooding across Greater Jakarta following torrential rain on New Year's Eve. More than 500,000 people were affected by the disaster, and 16 fatalities were reported in Jakarta. (ars)
