JAKARTA: The government remains undecided on the replacement of Boediono as coordinating minister for the economy after he is installed as Bank Indonesia governor next month.
"The President has yet to discuss who will fill the minister's post. And there's no force majeure situation urging the government to immediately decide on Boediono's replacement," State Secretary Hatta Radjasa said here Tuesday.
He said the government is currently preparing to issue a presidential decree on Boediono's installment as central bank governor after receiving a letter from the House of Representatives declaring its approval of him assuming the post.
Hatta declined to speculate on whether the ministerial post would be filled by someone from inside or outside the Cabinet.
Boediono will be sworn in as BI governor by the Supreme Court before May 17, the day the current governor, Burhanuddin Abdullah, currently in police detention for alleged graft, ends his term. -- JP
