Police nab Swiss citizen for drugs

SURABAYA, East Java: Police arrested a Swiss national for allegedly using crystal methamphetamine, locally known as shabu-shabu.
Thomas Sabathy, 44, was arrested alongside his Indonesian wife Anjar Sabathy, after consuming the drug in a hotel room in Trawas, Mojokerto.
Chief of the narcotics division at the East Java Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Firmansyah said Thomas was being detained at the police headquarters.
"During the arrest in Mojokerto on Apr. 4, officers were able to confiscate 2.5 grams of the drug along with other paraphernalia. Thomas and his wife were caught after taking the drug," he said Tuesday.
Firmansyah said police had also arrested a woman working in a shopping mall store, who according to Thomas was the drug seller.
"They could face three years in prison if found guilty," he said. -- JP
