JAKARTA: Armed robbers broke into Koran Tempo daily journalist Nur Hidayat's house in Tambun Selatan, Bekasi, and stole his car on Monday around 4:15 a.m.

Hidayat's wife Woro Winarni heard the robber breaking into the house.

However, she was unable to call the police because the robber carried a gun, which he fired into the air.

"I only saw the thief who broke into my house but my neighbor said there were three others waiting outside near their motorcycles," Woro said as quoted by Tempointeraktif.com.

She said the robber entered the house by breaking a window.

Hidayat reported the incident to the Tambun subprecinct police. --JP
