Farhan becomes 'street host'

JAKARTA: Farhan, admittedly losing popularity after leaving the Om Farhan show on Anteve, is making a TV comeback with his new show Tatap Muka on TV One.

And he has found a new way to regain his popularity -- by hitting the streets.

"I'm hitting the streets now because I think these days a host should no longer take information and references from second sources, then sit down nicely before the camera," Farhan was quoted as saying by Antara.

He says showbiz competition today is tough, especially with new popular talk show stars such as Tukul Arwana from Empat Mata and Andy Noya from Kick Andy!

"I have to be realistic," said the 38-year-old former radio DJ, who was once dubbed the highest-paid artist in television.

"Going to the streets is my new trick. This is what I'm doing now; directly interviewing people on the street or visiting unique places," he said.

He also told reporters that the format of his new show was a combination of styles from Andy and Tukul's shows. JP
