JAKARTA: Police caught two suspected drugs dealers a Kemayoran apartment block in Central Jakarta during a raid last Saturday, the Jakarta Police narcotics division reported Monday.
"At first, we arrested a suspect, 22, in an apartment. We confiscated 5,000 ecstasy pills from him, which were kept in a coffee pack and put in a black bag," said Sr. Comr. Arman Depari, the narcotics division head.
The Medan-born suspect told police the pills were made by his friend, 39, in another room at the Apartemen Kemayoran block.
In his friend's room, the police found an ecstasy molding machine, two plastic bags containing 2,500 ecstasy pills, 3,000 grams of green powder, 1,500 grams of blue powder and 13,000 grams of white powder.
"If they have molded this powder into pills, they could produce 120,000 pills worth Rp 12 billion (US$1.3 million)," Arman said, as quoted by Detik.com.
He said the suspects' ecstasy business, established last year, could produce 5,000 pills each day and reach markets outside Java. - JP
