KPK to keep eye on graft at schools

JAKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has urged schools to report all funds collected from students in order to ensure accountable school management.

"The commission has never forbidden those who want to gather funds from the community, especially funds to be used for education. However, anything that is related to the funds must be reported," Dede Rachim from the commission said Wednesday, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

According to the commission's regulation, the funds should be reported within 30 days. If the deadline is violated, the commission will have the authority to conduct an investigation.

After the commission receives the fund reports from schools, it will keep the information and use it to monitor how the funds are used. --JP
