BANDUNG: The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) will expel 14 students for taking enrolment tests for prospective students (a practice known as "jockeying"), an official said Thursday.
"We are processing the dismissal of the students. It's a serious violation and it is intolerable," ITB deputy rector Widyo Nugroho Sulasdi told reporters.
Widyo said the students, one of whom was a one time winner of the science Olympics, were offered Rp 30 million (US$3,000) each for taking them exam. "The money would be used for their holidays," he said. - JP
