n celebration of the Year of the Fire Rooster, Hong Kong will hold its annual Chinese New Year Night Parade 2017 on the main roads of Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon, on Jan. 28.
Sponsored by Cathay Pacific International, the 22nd parade will feature an array of overseas performances — stilt walkers, cheerleaders and folk dances — and present local performances from traditional lion dances to magic shows, percussion and modern dances to entertain spectators and tourists.

The parade will commence with an opening ceremony at Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in Tsim Sha Tsui, exclusively for ticket holders. Popular attractions including the Wheelartistics Wuppertal acrobatic show from Germany and K-Tigers from Korea are set to mark the start of the parade.
Although spectators’ tickets have already sold out, visitors can still enjoy the parade for free as it proceeds along Canton Road, Haiphong Road, Nathan Road and Salisbury Road, and ends outside Sheraton Hong Kong Hotel and Towers.
The event is slated to begin at 8 p.m. and wrap up by 9:45 p.m. (mra/kes)
