This year's Rinjani 100 extreme marathon, held on May 5, has attracted more participants than in previous years.
Held since 2012 on Lombok Island, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), 497 runners have registered for the race, consisting of 302 Indonesians and 195 foreigners from Australia, Austria, China, France, Japan, Ireland, Russia and Slovakia. Four hundred runners participated last year.
NTB Tourism Agency head Lalu Muhammad Faozal said the event was expected to help improve the development of sports tourism in NTB.
