he Belu administration will stage the Music On Vacation event on May 14 at one of Belu’s main tourist attractions, the white-sand Atapupu Beach.

Atapupu Beach is located 6 kilometers from the border between Indonesia and Timor Leste. It is a 50-minute drive from downtown Atambua and the beach is bordered by mangrove trees.

“We plan to make it [Music On Vacation] a monthly event,” said Belu Tourism Agency head Johanes Andes Prihatin.
Johanes said the regency has prepared 10 events for this year in order to attract foreign tourists, especially those from Timor Leste.
Tourism is one of the regency’s priority programs for the next five years, “The development of infrastructure has been accelerated followed by tourism facilities and the last [priority] is agriculture,” he explained. (asw)
