Tourism Ministry to send South Korean golfers to Bali

World Amateur Golfers Championship Indonesia plans to take 11 professional golfers to world-class golf courses in Bali.

orld Amateur Golfers Championship Indonesia plans to take 11 professional golfers to play at world-class golf courses in Bali. The event is a golf familiarization trip (famtrip) to be held from May 28 to June 2 with professional golfers from South Korea as the main target market.

According to the Tourism Ministry's archipelago tourism marketing development deputy, Esthy Reko Astuti, the golf tourism industry has been growing every year, especially in Bali.

“In five years’ time, Bali has fulfilled almost every aspect needed to become the perfect tourist destination. Bali is also known as a golf tourist destination with its international level golf courses and strategic location,” said Astuti.

The famtrip participants will have an opportunity to visit several golf courses such as Bali National Golf Club, New Kuta Golf, Bukit Pandawa Golf and Handara Golf & Resorts Bali. (asw)
