Brastagi in Karo regency of North Sumatra is scheduled to host Flowers & Fruits Festival 2017 for four days beginning July 6.

The festival is an expression of gratitude by the farmers to God for a bountiful harvest of fruits, vegetables and flowers across the regency.

“In the past, the festival was called the Thanksgiving Party and it served as a religious ritual, but nowadays the festival has become a tourist attraction,” said Karo Tourism and Culture Department head Mulia Barus.
