“Obama is very happy; he likes outdoor activities. We suggest that [Obama] attend the Bali Arts Festival 2017; the schedule has been provided by the Bali governor,” said Bali Tourism Agency head AA Gde Yuniartha.

“The Bali Arts Festival is one of Bali’s art icons; it would be a pity if they missed this opportunity. For an entire month, visitors will be entertained by more than 180 shows. At the festival, Obama can witness the love that the Balinese people have for their culture,” added Yuniartha.

The 2017 Bali Arts Festival runs from June 10 to July 8 in front of the Bajra Sandhi People’s Struggle Monument in Denpasar. This year’s festival bears the theme “Ulun Danu,” which means “preserving the water of life.”

Around 5,000 people, including four art troupes from abroad, are set to take part in the festival, including participants from East Nusa Tenggara, Timor Leste and India.

On Sunday, the Obamas were seen strolling around Jatiluwih village in Tabanan, which is known for its breathtaking views of rice terraces. On Monday, the family went to Ayung River in Bongkasa village, Badung, for rafting. (kes)
