tate-owned airport operator PT Angkasa Pura (AP) I has issued a new policy of free landing fee for airlines who open or add a new route to East Java region.

AP I commercial and business development director Moch. Asrori said that this new policy aims to increase the tourist traffic to East Java and it has been proved to be successful as evidenced from the increase of traffic movement from 25 to 27 per hour.
Another goal is to reduce the heavy traffic that happens during peak season.
Asrori believed that the company will be able to achieve the target of one million international tourists to East Java that has been set by the tourism ministry.
“The number of international tourists in 2015 increased significantly to 54 percent. Last year we’ve recorded 612,412 visits from international tourists to East Java via Juanda International Airport, up 32 percent from 2015 that had 463,596 percent,” said Asrori. (asw)
