Surabaya city administration is ready to build a shooting range in Suramadu area.
ast weekend, Surabaya city in East Java hosted two events: Surabaya Shooting Tournament 2017 and Bulak Fest 2017. The former is an international shooting tournament that was held at Lapangan Kodam V Brawijaya on Nov. 17 – 19.
A total of 400 people took part in the tournament that was divided into four categories: tembak reaksi, tembak target, AA IPSC and hunting. Surabaya regional secretary Hendro Gunawan said that the event aimed to foster shooting athletes in Surabaya and promote tourism in Surabaya.
Surabaya youth and sports department head M. Afghany Wardhana added that the Surabaya city administration is ready to build a shooting range in Suramadu area.
As for the second event, Bulak Fest 2017, the festival is being held throughout the month of November and features activities such as fish-cooking competition, video competition with the theme 'The Sunrise of Bulak', fisherman fashion competition and others.

“There was a boat parade held on Nov. 19 involving Bulak fishermen and several participants from outside Surabaya such as Pasuruan and Probolinggo,” said Bulak district chief Soeprayitno.
This year marks the second anniversary of Bulak Fest. Last year, thousands of people took part in the festival.
Bulak is located in the northern part of Surabaya and has several tourist spots such as Sentra Ikan Bulak (SIB) that has become the go-to place for seafood lovers and Surabaya Bridge that has a colorful fountain.
The city of Surabaya itself has plenty of interesting places that can be explored such as Heroes Monument, Four-Faced Buddha Statue, Submarine Monument, WR Soepratman Museum, Klenteng Hong Tiek Hian, Batik House, House of Sampoerna, Bungkul Park, Apsari Park and Dr. Soetomo Park to name a few.
When it comes to the food scene, several must-try local dishes in the capital city of East Java are Jancuk Fried Rice, Klopo Ondomohen Satay, Rawon Setan, Lontong Balap and Soto Ayam Lamongan Cak Har. (asw)
