South Sumatra holds International Musi Triboatton (IMT) 2017

This was the sixth times the event was held and it also served as a warm-up event for the 2018 Asian Games in which Palembang and Jakarta will be the host cities.

total of 268 participants from 19 teams took part in International Musi Triboatton (IMT) 2017 sports event that was held on Nov. 7 – 11 in Musi River, South Sumatra.

Participants came from countries such as China, Canada, France, Jordan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam and Philippines. Meanwhile, there were 10 local teams from West Sumatra, East Java, Bangka Belitung, Jambi, Riau, South Sulawesi, West Java, DKI Jakarta, South Sumatra I and South Sumatra II.

IMT 2017 was a rowing competition that traveled through rivers and used three types of boats. It consisted of five laps and participants traveled to four regencies and one city.

The first lap stretched from Tanjung Raya Village to Yellow Bridge, Tebing Tinggi.

The second lap was held in Muara Kelingi Village, Musi Rawas Regency, the third lap was in Sekayu City, Musi Banyuasin Regency, the fourth lap was in Pangumbuk Dock, Banyuasin Regency and the fifth lap was in Kuto Besak Castle, Palembang.

This was the sixth times the event was held and it also served as a warm-up event for the 2018 Asian Games in which Palembang and Jakarta will be the host cities. (asw)
