ity-owned bus operator PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) has unveiled buses that bring the feel of a children's bedroom to the streets of the capital - all in the name of tourism.
"By displaying these animal illustrations on Transjakarta buses, we seek to help market tourist destinations in Jakarta," PT Transjakarta president director Budi Kaliwono said in Jakarta on Friday, as quoted by news agency Antara.

Budi said the concept was inspired by public transportation in tourist destinations abroad, adding that such decoration was deemed to help increase interaction value.
The buses featuring animal designs currently only serve two locations so far, namely Ragunan Zoo in South Jakarta and Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (Ancol Dreamland Park) in North Jakarta.

"Plans are in store for the buses to serve other locations, including the Kota Tua area. In the initial phase, 10 buses will be designed with the animal pictures," said Budi.
Previously, Transjakarta buses featured design elements of the upcoming Asian Games, in vintage style.
"We're positive these animal-designed buses can increase the entertainment ambiance for the passengers as well as add to the attraction of tourist locations in Jakarta," added Budi. (kes)
