tate-owned railway operator PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) is set to launch its newest service of luxury sleeper train car on Tuesday.

For its maiden trip, the train car will be attached to KA Argo Anggrek, which travels from Gambir Station in Jakarta to Pasarturi Surabaya Station in East Java. 

According to tempo.co, among the highlights of the new service are 170-degree reclining seats, electric foot rest, 12-inch TV with headset, USB charging power source, foldable food tray, pillow and blanket, trash bin, mirror, cup holder, compartment to store shoes, magazine and coat hanger -- all available for each passenger.

"The exclusive service provided in this train car is similar to an airline's business class," said PT KAI Operation Regional (Daop) 3 Cirebon public relations manager Krisbiyantoro on Monday.

One train car can accommodate 18 passengers, who will also receive complimentary meals, beverage and snacks.

The fare for the service is Rp 900,000, which is a promotion rate on offer for one month only. 

Travelers can books tickets to enjoy the luxury service through any of the company's reservation channels.

Kris said the luxury sleeper train was one of PT KAI's innovations to improve its services, "so that the public have more traveling options according to price and journey". (kes)
