Macau introducing culinary delights through Food Truck tour

Macau is seeking to introduce its culinary treats to Jakarta residents through it Food Truck Roadshow, as the Chinese special administrative area this year rolls out its '2018, Macau Year of Gastronomy' campaign.

n a bid to introduce Macau's unique local culinary heritage, the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) is set to bring its Food Truck roadshow to 10 spots around Jakarta. 

"This year, Macau has a campaign series titled '2018, Macau Year of Gastronomy' in order to introduce Macau's unique local culinary heritage," MGTO head of Indonesia representative Devi Sari said during the launch of the food truck tour, which began at the Bentara Budaya Jakarta in Central Jakarta on Sept. 7, as quoted by kompas.com

Macau, a Chinese special administrative area, was included in the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of Gastronomy in November last year.

"This makes Macau officially the third creative city in gastronomy in China, after Chengdu and Shunde," Devi said.

The Food Truck is slated to tour 10 spots around the Indonesian capital, making a stop each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Over the weekend, it had already made a stop in Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (Ancol Dreamland Park) and during Car Free Day on Jl. Sudirman, where it was perched in front of fX Plaza on Sunday morning. 

Among the culinary delights on offer include desserts such as serradura, Portuguese egg tart and milk pudding. The next locations would be announced on the tourism board's social media account, namely Tourism Macao. (asw)
