Ayana Resort & Spa in Bali now prohibits visitors from using electronic devices in its River Pool area.
According to a statement released by the establishment, this rule is in accordance with the resort’s In the Moment campaign, which aims to provide a private place where visitors can connect with one another and enjoy me-time.
The gadgets banned include smartphones, tablets and digital cameras.
This ban only applies in the River Pool area. Visitors of the 11 other pools in the resort area are still allowed to bring their gadgets.

The resort provides lockers for visitors to store their gadgets. Conventional games such as cards, jenga, sudoku and magnetic chess are also provided for guests to borrow as an alternative form of entertainment.
However, guests are allowed to bring their gadgets into the area twice a day, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A representative of Ayana Resort & Spa Bali told The Jakarta Post that at first some guests were not happy about the no-gadget policy. But now they understand and have started to enjoy the privacy and convenience at the River Pool. (iru/mut)
