Show to the majority of people who elected him that he is a real statesman not merely a politician. Do not bow to the pressure of the opportunistic political parties. He has the chance to be a great leader of Indonesia who brings back the dignity and sovereignty of this country and creates the welfare for the people. On the other hand he may become a mediocre leader who brings nothing to the country.

Mr.SBY and Indonesia nation truely face in a difficult system.Strong support from political parties may give a lot off yess man issue, hoodlums and milliteristic from politicien back up. No once who dare to give a reverse opinion that will give check and balance. Mr. SBY should give a space and time to young generation for developing contry and them self in a feedback forum, to correct goverment policy. We may not hope only to lose politicien as a corrector power. But all of the people in this country should obtain space to be a corrector power. The space is political education and freedom to give an opinion in open public.Every people in this country should be proude be an Indonesia , both by education and prosperity back ground as well as Indonesian Goverment. Corruption eradication is important but prosperity and education is more important.I am a gree to Mr President if you place a curruptor the same with terrorist."social sunction".Indonesian future at your shoulder to day. good luck for you.
First of all President Yudoyono need to do careful reading of Indonesia problems, to get a clear picture on social formations that are happening in Indonesia and its people. In series of studies, it is clear the country is not a poor country. So, why the majority of its populations are still poor by the term of MDGs ? Poverty is on the list of priorities. In other word is employment issue.
Secondly, a person with a strong vision, clear mind and commitment will understand that one of the major problem is Indonesia agriculture sector and I hope President Yudoyono have a clear orientation that land issue is very connected to agriculture problems. It is understandable that some people want to see Indonesia as industrious country. However, an approach that down to earth and ephasizes on our streght is a more logical choice and therefore to stregthen the agriculture sector is a priority that President Yudoyono must take.
Thirdly, some focus of work should look into the question of demographic, the urgent need for law audit as many laws and local ordinances are conflicting with Constitutional mandats. i.e law on coastal are and management of small island, law on pornographie, law on mineral and coal mining and local ordinances (perda) which are only favour to certain group or religion and show a clear discrimination on sex and religion based, to name the few.
Forthly, for sure the problems of Indoensia migrant workers is another urgent issue one. Almost very day there is a bad news on how Indonesian migrants are treated abroad and no cheap - secure way to work as migrant workers. President Yudoyono must aware that the remittances from these migrants ( majority are women !) is teh scond largest revenue to teh country after oil and gas. The Department of Labour ( Menakertrans) and BPTKI have not been sucessful enough to tackle the problems for various reason. I believe the President must tackle this problems immediately as migration is a big issues and knowing how our migrant workers have been contributing to the country economy. One of the major issue from the migration is the post migration which hardly dealth with by President Yudoyono first's term.
The other important priority (within the framework of justice system which cover the justice apparatus, the culture of justice in Indonesia and the content of justice, which are far from ideal) is calling for serious endevours to take up.
The list are endless when one talk about problems and priorities. The quality of education prom primary to university level is another urgent issue that can not be ignored as it will determine the future of Indonesia.
Among the most urgent issues is the backlog problems from the previous term that must addressed fairly and resolved. One can mention Lapindo issue and Munir case as a start as public are aware and waiting for actions to solve these issues. In larger frame, the KPK as institution is now in limbo. President must ensure that KPK work and does have aim to eradicate corruption. Maybe words from Elie Wiezel one of Nobel Laurate and Auschwitz survivor will be useful to ponder " Take side. Neutrality helps the oppressor , never the victims. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented " .
I hope President Yudoyono does have a clear orientation and frame what to do on his incoming five years in office. Nobody like to be called as a mediocre.
Congratulation. Pak SBY will have his second, last, five-year term tomorrow. Aside from whether he has chosen the right ministers for assisting him during his second term, the way how he has been building an effective government by accomodating powers from other sources beyond his party and coalition is very much appreciated. It is now the time to catching up how these genereous powers in his government will have a piercing force to come out with the current economic, political and social challenges in Indonesia. Would not be easy, but he has the needed weapon.
Mr. President,
You are as a winner both in election of president and legislative, salut for your kindness, wise, and smart. But be careful with your policy that tend to eliminate of correction power. All of system without correction power will be damage. For the reason If I you the next step after I select all of my ministers, I will ask to any proffesor in the world, how to build good system without correction power. I hope Allah with you.
President SBY should focus on managing a better education for all Indonesians, that's for sure. We all know that Indonesia has a bad recored on handling its national education. Private schools must not be discriminated in school grant policy. Second, I think this newly installed government must--ABSOLUTELY--consider separating religion and the state. Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) has gone too far to control the citizen's life. I need to remind you all that our country is not a state religion. Hard liners should be banned so that they will never interfere ridiculously to any issues in the country. Third, I think it's time for Indonesia to build its military power so that neighboring countries will never underestimate us. By building our military power, at least other countries will pay us some respect in our borders and our dignitiy. Fourth, this country must push itself to build a better chance for economic development in every aspect, not by issuing unsupporting regulations.
He should focus on STATE INVEST, to keep Indonesia exist and be one of the country that others must to respect. State Invest are include :
1. Stability, in economic and security
2. Education
3. Health
Why stability come first, the Majesty President knows better and I am going to highlight education and health. Up to know that two issues always abuse by politicians, goverment and always come on first list any campaign.
Now, everybody aware that education is a luxurious one for ordinary one, as all the state university become "profit center" for some group, its difficult for ordinary poeple to get a better education such in University of Indonesia, Gajahmada, ITS, ITB and many more. If it was happen and old day, I am not become a dentist, and now its imposible ordinary poeple become a medical doctor because it is expensive now eventhough at state university.
The third is Health, everybody reliaze that health is everything, but at the implementation is quite different.
Goverment should take that particularly responsible, Education and Health are State Asset please put there all the profesional on that field and keep away all the politician who going to abuse it.
the government should pay attention to our education, because it is the most important one.we always see the condition of school in remote place still bad and the facilities also lack how we will build our country if the education itself very bad.please pay attention with this coz education is our foundation to make our country be better.
I think Mr.Yudhoyono should shift his focus more on education..
Education has a long term advantage for the development of a country. Maybe it doesn't show its effect on our nation in instant. But in the long run, it helps us to hang on and stand still while the others fall apart when the storms (in every possible way and form) comes around.
Just take a look on what happens to Japan, or India.
By having a more educated people, govt do a lot more saving because by being knowledgeable people increasing their survival chance all by themselves quite naturally.
Citing opposition from Muslim residents, the Mayor of Depok recently revoked the building permit for the planned Huria Kristen Batak Protestan (HKBP) church in Depok.
