mid the screening of the much anticipated movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in local cinemas, dailysocial.id has compiled a list of the top six Star Wars games of all time, which are just as thrilling as George Lucas' movies.

6. Star Wars: Battlefront II (2005)

Despite developer Pandemic Studios' second effort in creating a version of Battlefield from Star Wars arguably not being successful, there are many aspects of Battlefront II that make it superior compared to EA DICE's 2015 Star Wars Battlefront. From playing Luke Skywalker and Boba Fett to flying the TIE Interceptor, this game has all the features and content needed to present a complete Star Wars experience.

5. Star Wars: Dark Forces (1995)

Great design, great first-person shooter action and rich characters are among the reasons this game is one of the best Star Wars games. Dark Forces' first shooter game provides excitement and allows players to look up and down, duck and jump.

4. Star Wars: Republic Commando (2005)

This is one of the Star Wars games that does not follow LucasArts tradition as there is no familiar opening crawl and it offers a strong military theme. Republic Commando focuses on four Delta Squad members, the Clone's elite troopers. For the first time, gamers are given the opportunity to become a regular soldier that takes on deadly enemies without any help from the Force or a lightsaber, but only smart tactics and accuracy in shooting.

3. Star Wars: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (1997)

Many fans consider TIE Fighter to be the best Star Wars' space battle simulation game. But this one arguably offers a more complete experience as it allows you to fly various aircraft, from Rebel Alliance to Imperial ships. It was initially designed as a multiplayer game, but developer Totally Games later added a single player mode through the Balance of Power expansion pack.

2. Star Wars – Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (2002)

Long before (the dissatisfying) The Force Unleashed was released, LucasArts and Raven Software had actually discovered the best formula to present a lightsaber battle-based action game in a 3D space using a combination of the keyboard and mouse through Jedi Knight II. This method was a huge breakthrough in the action game arena, and made 2D-based fighting games look simple and predictable. The sequel, Jedi Academy, offers a lot more customization options.

1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003)

Knights of the Old Republic is said to have superior narration compared to the original trilogy, including an unexpected plot twist that is as surprising as the revelation of Darth Vader's identity in The Empire Strikes Back. Through its role-playing game, developer BioWare takes users to explore the galaxy far, far away, 4,000 years prior to the A New Hope movie, which is refreshing. It also invites gamers to explore new locations, reveals the mystery of the Sith and even provides an explanation on why Tusken Raider hated the newcomers so much. (fmn/kes)
