Budding vlogger, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo posted his latest YouTube video on Monday.

Titled #JokowiMenjawab (Jokowi Answers), the video contains a question and answer (Q&A) session, which was announced on the president's official Facebook on February 18. Dedicated for youngsters aged 13 to 20 years old, participants were required to create a 30-second-long YouTube Video.

Jokowi reportedly received a total of 425 videos from 26 provinces.

The first episode of #JokowiMenjawab discusses music and the creative industry and features four questions.

The first question came from Evan Sihombing. The 14 year-old asked the president about his favorite Metallica’s albums and songs.

Jokowi replied that he used to be a fan of Metallica, Scorpion and the like, adding that the album Master of Puppets and song “One” were among his favorites. He added that he was currently into local metal bands such as Slank and Burgerkill.

He said that the lyrics from these local bands made him feel optimistic and gave him the spirit to move forward.

The second question came from Rangga Wiguna, asking that if Jokowi had become a band member, would he have become a politician.

The president answered that he would love to be a drummer if he was a band member. He explained that the calling to be a politician could happen to anyone but one should remember that politicians and leaders need to have a vision and mission that bring greater things to the people.

The video continues with the President talking about children and patriotic songs as well as the young generation’s opportunity in the creative industry.

Jokowi ends the video by encouraging and challenging the young generation to make creative collaborations. (asw)
