Luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana's latest sneaker design has some people upset.

Dolce & Gabbana partnered with Japanese illustrator Jumpei Kawamura for the label's new fall 2017 sneakers, and when one-half the iconic duo, Stefano Gabbana, posted a picture from the line, the response from netizens was instant.

"I'm Thin & Gorgeous,” reads the sneaker in the Instagram post, along with other phrases.

While some commented that they “love it” and couldn’t wait to get their hands on the shoes, one Instagram user said, ”thin?! I'm disappointed!"

“I didn't know skinny meant healthy... wow…” commented another.

The designer did not take the criticism lightly, and responded to the comments, saying, "darling you prefer to be fat and full of cholesterol??? I think u have a problem.”

He continued with: “u think its better to be fat full of hamburgers??? Stupid.”

"When idiocy distorts reality!!!" Gabbana captioned a follow-up post of a screenshot of the Footwear News article about the controversial sneakers. "Next time we'll write LOVE TO BE FAT AND FULL OF CHOLESTEROL.” (sul/kes)
