o celebrate the 50th anniversary of Led Zeppelin's soundtrack to its legendary concert film Song Remains the Same, the band is planning to release a remastered reissue of the record.
According to Rolling Stone, for the latest Led Zeppelin reissue project, guitarist Jimmy Page, who again supervised the remastering job, plan to release multiple versions of the recordings, taken from a three-night gig at New York's Madison Square Garden in the summer of 1973.
The remastered album will be available as a digital release, as well as on Blu-ray audio, CD and vinyl.
A super deluxe box-set will also be available, featuring the album on CD and vinyl, a DVD of the original film with previously omitted performances, a surround-sound DVD with a photo gallery and a high-def download card. It will also contain a 28-page book featuring stills from the movie and an essay by Cameron Crowe, a replica of a Japanese film program from 1977 and a high-quality print of the original cover.
The special reissue will be available on Sept. 7.
