Joey, Wishnutama said, captured the Energy of Asia spirit. “He was nominated at the 2017 Grammy Awards, setting a very high standard for all musicians, especially as Joey is still very young,” he told Antara news agency.

Joey is set to perform during the opening ceremony alongside Anggun, Via Vallen, Raisa, Edo Kondologit, Rossa and other artists.

The ceremony, which is expected to attract an audience of over 42,000, will feature music and dance performances from provinces throughout the archipelago. (wir/kes)
