Aceh hosts jazz festival

Aceh is currently hosting a jazz festival at Taman Budaya indoor cultural park in Banda Aceh until Saturday.

Previously scheduled to be held at the Aceh Tsunami Museum's main stage, the Aceh World Jazz Festival was initiated by the Aceh Tourism and Culture Agency in collaboration with Lembaga Panteue Aceh.
Aside from featuring local jazz musicians, the event also includes workshops on the music genre, tribunnews.com reported.
"We set the event that way so that it will have a discussion, workshop and performances of our own musicians," the event's committee head and head of Lembaga Panteue Aceh, Jamal Abdullah, said on Thursday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Festivalgoers can expect to enjoy collaborations of jazz music and Aceh's own traditional music.
Among the musicians scheduled to perform at the event are SUKAMOSA, Bintang Indrianto, Komunitas B Bass Aceh, Iwan Soenaryo, Qana Musik, Jac 41 Project, Weh Project and NAD Project. (kes)
