encent Games’ PUBG Mobile has strengthened its position at the top after earning massive revenue, partially from items and skins purchases by its players, now reportedly reaching more than 100 million people monthly.

The Verge specifically mention the amount of revenue to have reached over US$ 146 million.

China-only rebrand of PUBG Mobile, namely Game For Peace, is said to have contributed to the revenue.

Approximation from Chinese brokerage Great Wall Securities shows that Game For Peace earned US$ 70 million, only six million less than its counterpart which generated US$ 76 million in revenue last month.

Game For Peace is a less violent version of PUBG, held in a more patriotic setting. It is said that unlike the gruesome death scene in the original version, players of Game For Peace who have been exterminated leaves and waves goodbye.

The adjustments that were made in China resulted from many difficulties, such as restriction for new video games licenses and regulations for existing games to be rewritten or given time limits.

Another popular game of Tencent’s, MOBA Honor of Kings, could only be played an hour a day by children under the age of 12, while those aged 12-18 can play up to two hours.

Amid restrictions that may affect revenue, Game of Peace and PUBG Mobile combined had successfully managed to appeal to their audience, their monthly revenue exceeds the amount earned by Honor of Kings. (vit/mut)
