AKARTA: It would seem that curves are back in, at least for Dangdut singer Dewi Persik, who recently said she was trying to put on weight.

Shaking her hips while performing has made her loose weight, she said. But to look good while doing her hip-shake, Dewi said she had to be curvy.

Dewi, 24, explained a curvaceous body made her dancing moves more attractive. Being skinny does not make her look sexy, she added.

“I’m focusing on becoming more voluptuous so my moves will look better,” she said Sunday as quoted by detikhot.com.

Dewi has recently joined the ranks of artists managed by singer and producer Ahmad Dani’s company, Republik Cinta management.

The company is currently producing Dewi’s video clip — reportedly costing Rp 150 million — for her single Diam-Diam (Silently).  — JP
