JAKARTA: Actress-turned-legislator Rieke Diah Pitaloka says she recently experienced an incident allegedly involving the double ownership of phone numbers
AKARTA: Actress-turned-legislator Rieke Diah Pitaloka says she recently experienced an incident allegedly involving the double ownership of phone numbers.
She said she received a text message from a number she recognized as belonging to artist and activist Acil Bimbo, asking for an official’s phone number.
Rieke replied to the message and the subsequent one thanking her. However, she then received a text from Acil’s number asking why she gave him the phone number.
“Kang Acil said it had happened several times, text messages coming in asking for someone’s phone number,” she said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.
Acil confirmed the incident separately. “Someone from the [service] provider said that cellular phone numbers can indeed be multiplied. I wonder, how can that be?” he said.
