Passenger traffic in the Asia-Pacific region continued to show strong and steady growth from January to May this year, a press release from Airports Council International (ACI) said on Wednesday.
The latest ACI Passenger and Freight Flash Reports showed a year-on-year increase of 8.4 percent in Asia-Pacific airports.
Beijing (PEK) continued to record the highest passenger throughput in the region, with over 6.7 million passengers in May 2012. Tokyo Haneda (HND), with over 5.4 million passengers, came second and the other three airports in the top five were Hong Kong (HKG), Dubai (DXB) and Bangkok (BKK), all recording over 4 million passengers.
