enowned film director and screen writer Joko Anwar gives two thumbs up to Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and Deputy Governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama, citing the city officials as his role models.
“I can probably say that I was once part of a generation that didn’t have any public figure to look up to. I mean, who [could you look up to] in the government? However, Jokowi and Ahok changed all that,” said the 36-year-old director of Pintu Terlarang (The Forbidden Door) and Modus Anomali, as quoted by kompas.com.
Joko said he was amazed by the leadership both had demonstrated since the two were sworn in last month, including uploading videos of their meetings with the city’s agencies on video-sharing website YouTube to ensure bureaucratic transparency.
