Jazz musicians from Germany and Indonesia will share the stage, performing their latest collaboration in Serambi Jazz: Kai Bruckner and Riza Arshad Project. The show will start in Bandung at Auditorium Sunan Ambu STSI on April 16 and at Aula Timur Institut Teknologi Bandung on April 17. Two more shows are scheduled to take place in Jakarta at the GoetheHaus on April 18 and Institut Musik Indonesia on April 19. In the upcoming visit, Bruckner will also play along with bassist Paul Kleber, pianist Reza, Indonesian traditional drummers Endang Ramdan and Erlan Suwardana, as well as metal toys player Cucu Kurnia. Through her new documentary feature film, Di Balik Frekuensi (Behind the Frequency), Ucu Agustin traces and exposes the conglomeration of television media in the post-Soeharto era. The film is scheduled for public screening on April 23 at Teater Salihara in Jakarta, starting at 7 p.m. Registration is available until April 22. The film illustrates how media conglomerates have exploited news channels solely for their political and business interests and gains. It also tells the stories of Luviana, a Metro TV journalist who was dismissed after raising questions about the company's one-sided treatment of their workers and of Harto Wiyono's fight for the right to compensation after Lapindo, as told through a series of media reports by field journalists. Exhibition
Selasar Sunaryo Art Space will showcase a new exhibition from artist Prilla Tania ' a display of installations, objects and videos entitled E ' from April 19 until May 11.The title of the exhibition is taken from the symbol of energy in physics. Prilla is a young artist who graduated with a degree in fine arts and design from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB). Prilla applies simple and minimal techniquts to present many things from her daily life. On April 28, Prilla will be available for an artist's Talk session at Bale Handap at the Selasar Sunaryo Art Space at 3 p.m. For more information, visit selasarsunaryo.com.
