angerang Mayor Wahidin Halim said on Monday that he would file a complaintwith Home Minister Gamawan Fauzi and Banten Governor Ratu Atut Chosiyah over a 'hijacked'official.
Wahidin regarded the appointment of Zainudin, head of the Tangerang municipal Family Planning and People's Empowerment Agency (BPMKB), as the head of Tangerang regental education agency by newly sworn-in Regent Ahmed Zaki Iskandar as a violation of ethics and government regulation.
'The installation of Zainudin as Tangerang regental education head without our consent is unethical and against government policy,' Wahidin toldreporters on Monday.
'Zainudin may not hold double positions because it is illegal,' he said, adding that he had prepared letters of complaint to send to the minister and the governor.
Zainudin was reportedly at odds with the mayor after he was ousted as the head of Tangerang municipal education agency late last year and transferred to BPMKB, which is locally regarded as a landfill for unwanted officials.
Separately, Tabrani, head of the Tangerang municipal education agency who replaced Zainudin, confirmed that the Tangerang regent was not only ethicallywrong but had also violated a government regulation by installing Zainudin at the regency administration without the consent of the mayor.
'We understand if the regency needs an experienced official to lead the education agency, but ethically the new regent should have filed a request with the Tangerang mayor in advance,' he told The Jakarta Post.
