tate-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan has asked all managers of state-owned enterprises to transfer their knowledge byteaching at primary and junior high schools.
'All top management, without exception, should serve the nation by sharing their knowledge with students,' Dahlan said on Thursday, as quoted by Antara news agency.
He understood that directors should be busy with their jobs but still urged that them to make the time for teaching.
'They should rearrange schedules. One person could teach two or three schools at the same time,' he said.
Dahlan acknowledged that he had been inspired by Paramadina University rector Anies Baswedan who started the Indonesia teaching initiative that challenged the best people to spend a year teaching in remote places.
'Anies' idea is very good and thoughtful indeed and thus it should be followed and supported,' he said.(nai/dic)
