(Courtesy of Sony Music Indonesia)Since starting married life and becoming a father, singer Sandhy Sondoro finds himself in a new phase of life.

Sandhy married actress Ade Fitrie Sechan, who has two children from a previous marriage, in August last year after dating for two years.

In March, his wife gave birth to a baby boy, whom Sandhy considers 'a gift from heaven'.

'I now feel that I have a clearer direction in life. I know who I'm living my life for. I think that is the most important change that has occurred,' he said with a proud smile.

'With a wife and children now, I can't wait to go home whenever I'm away.'

Sandhy said he enjoyed his new roles as a husband and father, always trying to incorporate music under his roof.

'I sing a lot at home. I sing during meal times, I play guitar with the kids and they sometimes join in. My daughter loves to sing,' said the singer.

But the 30-year-old said that he did not want to force his children into music.

'They sometimes play the piano, but they aren't that serious about it yet. I offered them piano or singing lessons, but only if they wanted to,' said Sandhy, who admitted that he never took his children along with him on tours.

'I don't want to push them. I want them to have the freedom to choose.'

If he has the chance, Sandhy said that he would like to take his family on a trip to another country to
embrace a different culture.

'I think that would be an interesting experience. I'd like to get musical inspiration from the local people,' he said.

Becoming a dad has also taken him into new territory as a musician.

'It has been very positive. I get to explore more themes and topics. There are new themes I didn't touch as a single man. This new experience will definitely affect my songwriting in the future,' he says.

'Now that I have children, I can cover more universal issues. My baby boy has inspired me to write songs ' songs that I previously would have never been able to write.'
