epok Police will check closed circuit television (CCTV) in the Cibubur area in West Java to track NY, the main suspect in an alleged investment scam that caused a loss of dozens of billions of Rupiah in Depok, West Java.
Detective chief Comr. Ronald A. Purba said he has ordered a full force of his team to find NY. He said his team would check CCTVs located at the meeting spots of NY and Purwandriono, a suspect that had been arrested, to get a clear description of the main suspect.
Purwandriono, who was previously identified as PWD, was a member of the Prosperous Justice Party from the Tapos district in Depok. He was arrested on April 28.
"The suspect [Purwandriono] gave us a picture [of NY], but we are not so sure about it," Ronald said as quoted by tempo.co on Friday.
Ronald said Purwandriono was the only one who had frequently met the suspect when he handed over money from the victims.
Around 70 victims became the witnesses of the alleged investment scam in a cooperative called Serba Usaha Bina Mandiri Ummat Indonesia, an office and school stationary supplier founded in 2010. The alleged scam caused a total loss of Rp 43.9 billion (US$4.5 million).
