NDONESIA: The minister for foreign affairs and cooperation of the Republic of Mozambique, Oldemiro Baloi began an official visit to Indonesia on Monday and met with his Indonesian counterpart, Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa.

The two-day visit is the first made by Minister Baloi since his appointment to office in Mar. 2008.

The two ministers agreed to promote increased business-to-business interaction and cooperation between their private sectors, including banking, a joint statement released on Monday said.

The two ministers were encouraged by the positive trend in bilateral trade and investment cooperation that reached US$120.3 million in 2012 ' an increase of 125% compared to 2007 figures.

The meeting also acknowledged the potential for cooperation and synergy between ASEAN and the African Union (AU) as well as between ASEAN and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).

Baloi will also meet with Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan and Education Minister Muhammad Nuh to discuss the possibility to increase trade, education and culture between the two countries.
