arsono, the deputy chairman of the Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) from 1997 to 2004, died on Monday at 8 p.m. at Pertamina Hospital in Jakarta. He was 73.
PBSI said he was buried on Tuesday at the Karet Bivak Cemetery Park beside his wife, Machyuni, who died last year. He is survived by five children, 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
'The extended family of PBSI expresses our condolences for Pak Karsono death. He dedicated his life to badminton. After he served his PBSI tenure, he was entrusted to chair the Bengkulu chapter in 2008 until his death,' Ricky Soebagdja, PBSI media and public relations officer, said in a release.
Karsono was manager of the national team for the Sudirman Cup 2003 in Eindhoven.
