AKARTA: The directors of Rectoverso, Happy Salma, Marcella Zalianty, Cathy Sharon, Olga Lydia and Rachel Maryam, are excited that their film will play at the 66th Cannes Film Festival.

Rectoverso is among the movies listed for a special European Premiere during the festival, held from May 15 to 26.

'We were not so sure when we registered the movie in the Cannes competition. But it turns out it is listed for the special screening,' Happy said as quoted by kompas.com.

With Marcella, Happy flew to Cannes on Saturday.

Happy said they were glad they could represent Indonesia at the international festival.

'After 14 years, there is finally an Indonesian movie screening there,' she said.

During the screening, the movie will have French subtitles.
