akarta Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono launched two new feeder routes connecting Bekasi to Tanah Abang and the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta.
Each route will be served by 10 buses. "Each trip will take about 90 minutes," Pristono said during the launch at the Dukuh Atas shelter.
The fare for the new service, which operates from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., is between Rp 5,000 (51 US cents) and Rp 6,500.
Four other feeder services connect Pulogadung in East Jakarta and Bekasi (15 buses), Poris Plawad in Tangerang and Grogol in West Jakarta (10 buses), Ciputat in South Tangerang and Kota in West Jakarta (eight buses) and Cibinong in Bogor regency and Grogol in West Jakarta (10 buses) and Bogor and Rawamangun in East Jakarta (10 buses).
Up to 3.6 million people traveled from Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi to Jakarta per day in 2011.
