ational Commission for Child Protection consultative council chairman, Seto Mulyadi, said the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should not treat DM, a senior high school student thought to be graft suspect Luthfi Hasan Ishaaq's wife, the same way as other people allegedly implicated in the case.
The 18-year-old student has been summoned by the KPK twice as a witness for Luthfi. However, the teenager who is thought to have undergone an unregistered marriage with the former Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) president has never answered the summons.
'The KPK should treat her in different way, particularly due to her age,' said Seto, a child psychologist popularly known as Kak Seto, as quoted by tempo.co.
He suggested the KPK could question DM at her home, rather than at the commission office.
DM, a student from a state-vocational school in East Jakarta, was summoned by the KPK to disclose her knowledge of the flow of money in the beef graft case that Luthfi has been named a suspect in.
DM's whereabouts remain unknown. It was reported that KPK investigators had tried to pick her up from school on the last day of the national exam earlier last month. But the effort yielded no result. (fan/ebf)
