A

lawmaker from the Democratic Party on the JakartaLegislative Council,Taufiqurrahman, led a mass rally at City Hall to protest the city latest free healthcare program, KJS.

He demanded that the governor focus on improving the program instead of conducting impromptu visits.

"Instead of making impromptu visits, Governor Jokowi should focus on improving the potential problems of the KJS, like talking with the managements of 16 private hospitals tnat are having problems with reimbursements," he said as quoted by kompas.com.

The healthcare program has sparked protests mainly from private hospitals that object to the hospital fee reimbursement method, which they claim causes them losses.

After giving a five-minute speech, Taufiqurrahman returned his office while other protesters moved to rally at the back of the governor's office. (fan/dic)
