H

ouse of Representatives Commission XI on finance has approved a budget cut of Rp12.1 billion for the National Planning and Development Board (Bappenas).

Initially, Bappenas head Armida Alisjahbana proposed a budget cut of Rp 38.8 billion from the initial allocation of Rp 1.05 trillion.

Armida said as quoted by Antara that the Bappenas could delay several construction projects and reduce the number of seminars and workshops to cutspending.

The commission ultimately decided on a budget reduction of Rp 12.1 billion. However, not all commission members agreed with the decision.

The Great Indonesian Movement (Gerindra) Party representative on the commission, Sadar Subagyo, submitted a note of objection, stating that he wouldhave preferred that Bappenas' budget was cut by Rp 38.8 billion.
