T

he Poso Police say they have identified the owner of a motorcycle used in the suicide bombing of the Poso Police headquarters on June 3.

'It belonged to a Poso resident and we are continuing our investigation into the owner,' said Poso Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Susnadi in Poso, on Wednesday, as quoted by Antara news agency.

He said the police had questioned the owner of the black-colored Yamaha Jupiter Z used in the bombing, which killed the perpetrator.

'It's also possible that it is a stolen motorcycle used by the bomber's group,' said Susnadi.

It may take several days to identify the motorcycle because it is severely damaged. The motorcycle's plate number was torn into pieces due to the bombing, and so cannot be identified. Only the vehicle's machine and hull remain intact.

Whether the owner of the motorcycle is part of any terrorist group in Poso is unknown.

On June 5, the police confirmed that the suicide bomber was not among the 20 terrorist suspects on their most-wanted list (DPO).

Officers from the National Police's Densus 88 counterterrorism unit shot dead terrorist suspect Nudin aka Bondan as he attempted to avoid arrest during a raid on Monday.

Nudin is one of Santoso's men. Santoso, allegedly involved in a series of violence incidents in Poso, has been on the run for the last several years.

Together with Abu Roban in Central Java, Nudin is believed to have organized robberies and used the money to fund terrorist activities. (hrl/ebf)
