Lampung Police arrested four men on Monday for allegedly hoarding as much as 13 tons of fuel in Lampung.
Lampung Police spokeswoman Adj.Sr.Comr. Sulistyaningsih said the suspects were arrested during Dian Krakatau, its fuel crime prevention operation that began on June 10 and will run until July 9.
'We have detained four suspects: Ag, Dn, Sdr, and Spr. We will continue to investigate their connection to several fuel speculators that committed fuel crimes in Lampung several years ago,' Sulistyaningsih said, adding that the police also confiscated the fuel -- mostly diesel fuel -- as evidence.
Sulistyaningsih said the 13 tons of subsidized petrol and diesel fuel were seized from the speculators operating in Jl. Soekarno-Hatta and Jl. Ir. Sutami Bandarlampung, Koya Menggala, in Tulangbawang regency, as well as in Labuhan Meringgai in East Lampung regency.
'Lampung Police and 9 other police headquarters in Indonesia are carrying out the Dian Krakatau operation,' said Lampung Police's head of operational bureau, Sr. Comr. Sahimin Zaenudin. (ebf)
